Marijke Van Hassel

As project coordinator, Marijke supports the project collaborators, provides strategic direction to the projects, and helps to shape Lasso’s trajectory.

Her interest in social trends led Marijke to pursue a master’s degree in Sociology. After completing her studies she started at Lasso, where she has been active since 2009. During this time, she developed a broad, cross-sector understanding of the Brussels professional field. Thanks to her knowledge of who does what and where organisations come from, Marijke can easily guide you and connect you with the right contacts. She has also witnessed first-hand the evolution of the cultural sector in terms of participation and has developed a well-considered vision of how cultural participation can take shape.

Diversity, inclusion and sustainability are important values for Marijke. In recent years, she has delved into these topics and has participated in numerous processes and trajectories. She is also happy to offer advice on these matters.
