With the BrusselArt project, Lasso wants to promote the cultural participation of groups of adults, with specific attention to adults in vulnerable situations.
The project is embedded in a broad network of cultural organisations and socio-cultural associations, institutions for adult education and organisations from the welfare sector. Lasso supports the exchange and cooperation between those players. That way we want to eliminate social, content-related and informative thresholds that adults may experience when wanting to participate in cultural life. The project exists in parallel to the financial threshold reduction that for example VGC Paspartoe works on.
Besides that, Lasso develops communication tailored to group supervisors, in order to inform and inspire them through digital channels. At the same time, we stimulate cultural players to align their offer or adapt it towards organisations working with groups of adults. There’s also a yearly network moment, BrusselArt Toernée, where we focus on best practices and share inspiration.
For BrusselArt, Lasso collaborates with other supporting organisations, among which Citizenne and the Brussels Ouderen Platform. Lasso is a member of the VGC working group to stimulate the use of the VGC Paspartoe group pass. Other members are: the Brussels Platform Armoede, Citizenne, Muntpunt & Publiq.
